Do you speak French?

We believe in specialisation and concentrating on niche markets means we can do things really well. So we just do French. We’re not just bilingual, we’re bicultural. This means we understand the contexts in which our customers work and what makes them tick.

Although we’re all language specialists, we only translate one way – into our mother tongues. That way, you can be sure that the translation is not only technically accurate but can be read and understood by a large number of people. Here’s a tip: be wary of anyone that tells you they can translate both ways. Unless they were born bilingual, they generally can’t.

We’ve been helping English-speaking and French-speaking business talk to each other for 15 years or so. We’ve worked for some major corporates, like France Telecom and Michelin and a lot of smaller guys. Businesses come to us because we’re approachable and professional and we share their vision of clear, well-crafted communications in two languages.

We’re experts at what we do. If we’re not able to give you the best possible service – that generally involves machine tools manuals – we’ll tell you and point you in the direction of translators that do that kind of thing very well.

And to end – just a word about Google and machine translations. You may have heard how good Google is at translating. Whilst machine translation technology has come on leaps and bounds just in the last few years, we are still a very long way from the computer power and artificial intelligence required for a computer to be able to imitate a human being.
